About Year 1 Count in 2s, 5s and 10s Worksheets
Can your child count in 2s, 5s, AND 10s? These free Year 1 worksheets bring all three skip-counting patterns together. If your child has been practising counting in 2s and 5s, adding 10s and mixing all three is the perfect challenge to round off their counting skills.
This week's five worksheets combine counting in 2s, 5s, and 10s. Your child will practise all three patterns, learn to recognise which pattern a sequence follows, and solve problems that require switching between different counting steps. Counting in 10s is also introduced here — and most children find it the easiest of the three!
What's Inside Each Day
Day 1
Counting in 10s — your child counts in steps of 10 to 100, discovering how quick and satisfying it is!
Day 2
Counting in 10s on a number line — children jump along a number line in 10s, and fill in missing numbers.
Day 3
Mixed 2s and 5s — your child practises both patterns side by side, learning to spot the difference.
Day 4
Mixed 2s, 5s, and 10s — all three patterns appear together, and your child identifies which rule each sequence follows.
Day 5
Skip counting challenge — word problems and puzzles that require counting in 2s, 5s, or 10s to find the answer.
Skills Your Child Will Practise
- Counting in 2s, 5s, and 10s
- Switching between different counting patterns
- Identifying which counting pattern a sequence uses
- Counting to 100 in steps of 10
- Solving problems using skip counting
Top Tip for Parents
Turn skip counting into a family game! Each person picks a rule (2s, 5s, or 10s) and everyone counts together. See who can get to 100 first! This playful competition helps all three patterns become automatic.
All our Year 1 Count in 2s, 5s and 10s worksheets are completely free to download and print. Each worksheet is aligned to the UK national curriculum and includes fluency practice, word problems, and reasoning challenges — everything your child needs for a well-rounded KS1 maths practice session.
