Year 2: Numbers to 50 (Week 6)

5 daily worksheets — Part of Place Value

About Year 2 Numbers to 50 Worksheets

Is your child confident with numbers up to 50? These free Year 2 numbers to 50 worksheets develop place value understanding with two-digit numbers. Your child will count in tens and ones, compare and order numbers, and use skip counting in 2s, 5s, and 10s.

This week's five worksheets explore numbers to 50 in depth. Your child will count base 10 blocks, use comparison symbols, practise skip counting patterns, partition two-digit numbers, and tackle mixed place value challenges. Every worksheet combines visual representations with practical problem solving.

What's Inside Each Day

1

Day 1

Counting tens and ones — your child counts base 10 blocks to find two-digit numbers and solves addition word problems using place value.

2

Day 2

Comparing and ordering — children use <, > and = signs to compare numbers, order numbers from smallest to largest, and spot the odd one out.

3

Day 3

Skip counting — your child fills in missing numbers when counting in 2s, 5s, and 10s, and solves word problems using skip counting.

4

Day 4

Partitioning — children complete part-whole models for two-digit numbers, partition into tens and ones, and explore different ways to show 32.

5

Day 5

Mixed place value — your child reads base 10 block representations, answers mixed questions about place value, and investigates making the greatest number from given digits.

Top Tip for Parents

A hundred square is one of the most useful maths tools for this age group. Print one out and keep it on the fridge! Ask your child to colour in the multiples of 2, 5, and 10 in different colours — the patterns that emerge are fascinating and help skip counting become automatic.

All our Year 2 Numbers to 50 worksheets are completely free to download and print. Each worksheet is aligned to the UK national curriculum and includes fluency practice, word problems, and reasoning challenges — everything your child needs for a well-rounded KS1 maths practice session.
